What is SafeSideTab?

SafeSideTab(Plus)), our security research team recommend you to run a malware scan using some reliable and reputable anti-malware software, just like SpyHunter 4. Furthermore, our security experts have found out, that the annoying SafeSideTab Ads are caused by a malicious software, that has been installed like a browser add-on or browser plugin or browser extension on your PC and is a part of a vicious and dangerous malware infection. Our security research department came to the conclusion that the SafeSideTab has been designed to get all of your Private Data – like Browsing History, Browsing Information, including Usernames, Passwords, E-mail addresses, Cookies, locations history, Real Name, SSN, Credit Card information or other Financial Information even Online Banking Credentials, which later will be either sold or shared with some 3rd party company, which will then use it for their marketing purposes. Our security experts have already warned us, that although SafeSideTab pretends to provide many useful security features, it has been classified as a dangerous adware and a PUP by the majority of the reputable security research teams around the globe. The adware contains a malicious browser extension, distributed via some suspicious or even questionable software bundles, configured to install the SafeSideTab by default in silent (or stealth) mode, hiding the adware from the victims’ eyes. This kind of adware has been used by developers to generate income by redirecting web traffic to their sponsor links and/or ads. Once activated the SafeSideTab adware will start overflowing your desktop screen using web ads “by SafeSideTab” , “Ads by SafeSideTab”, “SafeSideTab Ads”, “Ad by SafeSideTab”, “Powered by SafeSideTab”, “Brought by SafeSideTab”, “Optimized by SafeSideTab” or “Brought to you by SafeSideTab”.  Please note, that the ads, shown by the SafeSideTab should NOT BE considered SAFE and you should avoid clicking on them! The adware is tested to work with all of the well-known web browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

Generally, users that have it installed on their systems might experience various pop-up or pop-under ads, coupon boxes, banners, search suggestion windows, sponsored link advertisements or other commercials, displayed on popular web pages. The victim’s search results are compromised as well. Usually the search results are full of 3rd party advertising and SPAM.

SafeSideTab is usually bundled with some other free ad-supported software products and is being installed by default, when the user accepts the EULA, while performing an express/quick or recommended installation of that software bundle. The possible distribution of SafeSideTab varies, but is not limited to – installing third-party toolbars, free software products, video editing software, codecs, downloading e-mail attachments, clicking on not safe ads or banners etc.

The main goal of SafeSideTab is to generate as much web traffic as possible, that could easily be monetized via one of the many online marketing platforms. Please note, that the creators of that or similar adware collect private information from your computer, that might be used to track your browsing habits, IP addresses, Bookmarks, Usernames, Passwords and even financial information, however often they collect much more than just that.
