What is GsearchFinder Ads?

If your web browser starts showing you lots of unwanted web Ads by GsearchFinder, our security research team strongly recommends you to run a malware system scan using an up-to-date, reputable & reliable anti-malware software like SpyHunter 4. Our security experts found out that the GsearchFinder Ads are caused by a malicious browser extension called GsearchFinder, that appears to be capable of infiltrating various computers without asking for user’s permission or consent. After performing multiple experiments and tests, our security researchers concluded that this malware infection has been designed and developed to earn revenue for its developers by directly injecting the html code (sponsor ads/links) into the requested websites, which basically will lead to website alteration. After performing further tests, our security researchers discovered that the adware collects various private information from the victim’s computer including Web Searches, Browsing History & Information, Usernames & Passwords, E-mail addresses, Cookies, Location History, Names, SSN, Credit Card information and/or other private financial information and even online banking accounts information, which later will be either sold or shared with some 3rd party company, that will use your private data for their own marketing purposes. Our security experts warned us, that even though GsearchFinder claims to provide many useful & handy features, it was classified as a dangerous adware and/or a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) by the majority of the reputable malware researchers. It seems that the adware contains a malicious browser extension, distributed mainly via suspicious or even questionable software bundles, often configured to install the GsearchFinder by default using silent or stealth mode, hiding it from the users. This kind of adware has been used by malware developers to generate income by showing sponsor links or ads on almost every web page, requested by the victim. If your display starts getting overflown by these annoying ads “by GsearchFinder” , “Ads by GsearchFinder”, “GsearchFinder Ads”, “Ad by GsearchFinder”, “Powered by GsearchFinder”, “Brought by GsearchFinder”, “Optimized by GsearchFinder” or “Brought to you by GsearchFinder” – you should consider your computer infected by the GsearchFinder adware. Please note, that all of these ads, shown by the GsearchFinder extension should NOT BE considered SAFE and we strongly advise you to avoid interacting and/or clicking on them! After performing multiple tests and experiments, our malware researchers came to the conclusion that GsearchFinder works fine with all the well-known web browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

Generally, users that have it installed on their computers might experience various pop-up or pop-under ads, coupon boxes, banners, search suggestion windows, sponsored link advertisements or other commercials, displayed on almost all requested web pages. Please note, that the search results should be considered compromised as well, usually filled with 3rd party advertising and SPAM.

GsearchFinder is usually bundled with some other free ad-supported software products and is being installed by default while performing an express/default installation, right after the user accepts the EULA. That’s why we strongly advise you to always opt-out and use custom installation if possible and if it’s available, you should always deselect/exclude all of the unwanted software programs from the bundle installation process. You should leave selected (included) for installation only the initially requested software. The possible distribution of GsearchFinder varies, but is not limited to – installing 3rd party toolbars, free software products, video editing software, various multimedia codecs, downloading e-mail attachments, clicking suspicious ads or banners etc.

The main goal of GsearchFinder is to generate as much web traffic as possible, that could easily be monetized via one of the many online marketing platforms. Please note, that the creators of that or similar adware will collect private information from your computer, that might be used to track your browsing habits, IP addresses, Bookmarks, Usernames, Passwords and even financial information, however often they collect much more than just that. That’s why this infection should not be left unattended, and needs to be terminated immediately, as it presents a serious threat to your online, personal and financial safety.
